12/30/2023 0 Comments Dr charles nottingham![]() ![]() Zara began by explaining the context, showing research demonstrating that an astonishing 68% of businesses questioned considered themselves to be undergoing a ‘significant change’ and 29% a ‘moderate change’ – suggesting that virtually all organisations are in a state of constant flux. They discussed how businesses can develop talent and leadership skills within their organisations, encouraging workforces to step up and deliver in challenging, changing contexts – a pertinent issue for Nottingham during this time of great transformation and regeneration. The main speeches were from business psychologists Dr Zara Whysall and Dr Charles Jones from Kiddy and Partners, a leadership assessment and development firm, and part of the Gateley Group. He then handed over to Helen Webster, an associate solicitor at Gateley Legal, who showed guests a short, but impactful video which introduced Gateley and their forward-thinking and straight-talking approach, which sets them apart as a business. He spoke about the building activity and developments taking shape around the southern end of the city and what this would mean for Nottingham, amongst other updates. Paul Southby, Chair of Marketing NG, welcomed guests to the venue, including new members HeX Productions, Yu Energy and DP Online Marketing. The attendees, composed of representatives from many of Nottingham’s leading businesses, enjoyed networking over a drinks reception before sitting down to lunch. The lunch event was themed around ‘Transformational Talent Development’ and was sponsored by legal and professional services group, Gateley. I am an examiner at their final exams and have been awarded a Senior Clinical Lectureship by Oxford University in recognition of my efforts.Around 100 Nottingham business leaders attended the latest Nottingham Partners business lunch at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Friday 12 th July 2019. Since starting in Reading I have become heavily involved as a clinical tutor in teaching the Oxford medical students. ![]() I was then awarded an interventional fellowship by the British Heart Foundation which he used to further expand my practice specifically in the area of coronary stenting at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford (2000 - 2002), before being appointed as a consultant cardiologist in Reading in 2002. There I was involved in research on coronary stent technology specifically aimed at improving outcomes and the durability of angioplasty.įollowing on from this I returned to my alma mater, working at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh (1998 - 2000). After this, I went on to work at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in the USA (1996-98). During my time there I also completed my doctoral MD thesis on dilated cardiomyopathy, looking at the causes and inheritance patterns of this form of heart failure. This started at the City Hospital in Belfast (my home town) before moving on to the Mater Hospital in Dublin (1993-96). I have benefited from a far-reaching, prestigious and varied training in cardiology. I began studying Medicine at the University of Edinburgh in 1981 and during that time achieved merits in anatomy, biology, computer science and physiology I also spent an elective period at Harvard University and went on to do a science degree in physiology in 1985, before qualifying for my medical degree in 1988. ![]()
